Commission: OC Magna Guard that managed to not get shut down after the Clone Wars, but also developed a personality. Spent his time during the Empire as a bounty hunter and harasses the Empire when he gets the chance, his logic is the enemy stayed the same even if the name changed.

Magnaguard Development

Earlier in the series, Grievous made sure that his eight personal Magnaguards received constant training and allowed their brains to develop. While I never intended them to become as sentient or unique as say EV-A4-D or R2D2, I wanted to give them some distinguishing traits.

They are meant to evoke Qymaen's Izvoshra and how they were his eight personal legionnaires. Each of them received an updated body and weapons, once again showing how Grievous wanted to create the best of what he had on hand (given how the Separatists were disorganized and the B1 was cannon fodder).

Depressing Grievous headcanon

Grievous had been teaching his people everything he could his entire life. Kaleesh were naturally coaches to their siblings & peers. Unlike most Kaleesh, Grievous had always known an awful lot.

Of course, he used this skill set to militarize his people against their oppressors. But he'd always stop & show anyone how to do something if he had the time. Qymaen had taught Ronderu how to read, write, & function among other Kaleesh.

As advanced as his droid army was, he could only teach them as far as their programming could adapt to. The pinnacle of his efforts were the IG-100 Magnaguards. He was supremely proud of them.

Was wondering what the hell these guys' sparky electrostaffs are made of that they can just casually block lightsabers

so I looked it up and apparently it's made of phrik alloy which is lightsaber resistant, and all I can guess is that the name came from one polite lightsaber-wielder finding this out the hard way and going "oh frick"

When Qymaen’s work took him to Coruscant, he liked to tackle his collections from the top-down, starting at the grandiose skyscrapers of the surface and descending through the ecumenopolis into the gritty underworld. He supposed other agents might have preferred the opposite: work their way up from indigence to affluence, get the low profile clients out of the way before enjoying the more lucrative commissions that came from the wealthy upper levels. Qymaen’s priorities, however, lay in what brought him greater pleasure—and he garnered immense satisfaction from releasing a healthy dose of pent-up violence upon deserving parties, most of whom tended to make ends meet in the undercity. He always saved the best for last.

On this particular excursion to Republic City, the best and last saw him ducking into a public refresher to wash the blood from his knuckles while his IG-100 units waited patiently outside.

Qymaen’s position of commander of the Collections and Security Division did not preclude him from continuing his usual collections duties, even minor assignments—not that he minded in the slightest. He did have the means to send forces of droids in his stead and issue orders from the comfort of Muunilinst, and once or twice he conducted his affairs thus, but he knew from the outset such was not his preference. When he was Khagan, he threw himself into battle at every opportunity, and while his assignments for the IGBC hardly qualified as warfare, the sentiment still stood. He took what he could get, and then some.

Perhaps that was why he’d beaten this last client’s face to an unrecognizable pulp after he’d already paid the owed credits. A bit much; remarkably cathartic.

Daughter of an ex-soldier father and a hunter mother, Val was no stranger to the ways of combat and hunting, yet she was also drawn to the healing practices of medics. She is the eldest of six other siblings, all of whom were also trained to fight and hunt as a means of survival.

Val entered the Mandalorian Medical Guild at 12 years of age after passing a series of tests to qualify as a medic in-training. While qualifying was not as difficult, it was the studying, field and hands-on training that required more effort from her and her fellow Mandalorian colleagues. At 19, the final test that would determine only 5% of the candidates to obtain the title of “Doctor”, was enough to make Val nervous yet determined to pass.

In her small group of 10, Val was the only one to pass by one point.

Being a medic was no easy paying job when you travel throughout the galaxy, and despite taking a vow to never harm or take a life, Val found a new means of collecting bounties to pay for necessities, fuel, and ship repairs: putting bounty patients under anesthesia.

But what put Val on the edge of breaking away from her healer vows was the accidental overdosing of a bounty instead of sedating him, yet was paid more for his death. Val took a bit of time to eventually come to terms with what she was capable of doing and began more rigorous studies of different species to concoct certain medical poisons to essentially euthanize bounties.

Val continued this practice for nearly a decade until she had found a bounty worth millions, if not billions of credits: a yellow Zabrakian male with brown tattoos from Dathomir by the name of Savage Opress.

She accepted the bounty and while she did locate the planet he most likely was last scene in, she took a side step to explore an abandoned temple, obviously in awe at the beauty of the place. She made up for her small error when she heard someone approach her from behind.

Val and Savage had a brief quarrel before Val eventually had the upper hand due to her size compared to him and disarmed him. However, she felt something in her that told her not to kill him or turn him in, and offered to allow herself to provide medical care for both him, and his brother Darth Maul.

Val stayed with the Zabrakian brothers up until the very end of Savage’s life; and she was never able to tell Savage she was carrying his child. She was left as a heart broken single mother of their beautiful daughter Mara living on Koboh as the Rambler’s Reach Outpost’s newly appointed sheriff, working with Doma to keep the peace.

Climbing out of a hole on Koboh I was given the most polite "Hello!" from a B1 before it was going to shoot me.

B1s are endearingly dumb.

B2s? Spooky.

But not as spooky as a BX Commando.
